Brooten is in West-central Minnesota, centrally located between the Twin Cities and Fargo-Moorhead. We are one hour from St. Cloud and 35 minutes from Alexandria and Willmar.
Brooten has a population of approximately 650. The business district offers several eating establishments, grocery, bowling alley, gift shop, bakery, bank, convenience store, hairdressers, medical clinic, and more. You are a short drive from scrapbooking stores, quilt shops, and craft stores in New London, Paynesville, Willmar and Alexandria.
The Red Hen House welcomes all artists & crafters. If you like to knit, stamp, make cards, paint, or if you’re looking for a place for a personal growth or spiritual retreat, The Red Hen House can accommodate you and your group.
Check-in is 10:00 am and check-out is 2:00 pm.
Bring yourself and your projects, comfortable clothing is a must! We provide a fully-equipped kitchen for your use. Bring food to prepare, snacks and beverages or visit our local grocer or restaurants.
We provide all bed linens and plenty of towels and wash cloths. The house will be clean when you arrive. Please run the dishwasher before you leave and place all dirty linens in the laundry hamper. Enjoy your stay!
The Red Hen House is located in a residential area on a corner lot. You may park on the street in front or on the side of the property. There are entry doors to the work area and a separate entrance to the downstairs sleeping quarters and kitchen.
The Red Hen House is a non-smoking facility. Please smoke outside only. This includes vaping.
We have stairs to enter the facility. Once inside, a chair lift is provided between levels. There is a rest room on both levels for added convenience.
